This was going to be a tweet but it's about 500 characters too long. So I'm trying to help myself remember that a blog post does not have to be the epitome of brilliance, thoughtfulness, and completion, and just write this down to think about more some other time.
Reading this made me think about an awesome quote from here:
"A choice that is not also a right is not really a choice — it’s a privilege."
Looking at all the asterisked rights that Childbirth Connection says we are currently entitled to, I couldn't help thinking that there's a variation that might also obtain:
"A right that is considered an unusual choice is not really a right - it's a privilege."
